More doin's - of various natures

Over the past week or so, we've done a lot of little things here and there.  Not any of them "big" enough for their own post, but fun, or beautiful, or social.  So I'm compiling some photos of them to show you what we've been up to. Hope it pleases.
Our first trip was a hike up the Utah Construction Trail at Rich Bar

Next was a frosty morning run up Caribou Road

this was what my camera took when I light-metered it a certain way

very frosty rocks, and only but a few of the ones strewn along the boulder field

I love this one particularly

From there, we took Barbara on a tour up Caribou Road, and then wended to the Scottish Robert Burns Dinner in Reno.  Good times!

It was the name on the back of a vehicle; it intrigued and amused me, so I photographed it.

Finally, (phew!) I give you our trail-working day, which was today.  We worked on the lower section of the Tobin Trail.

Doin's

We've had coolish mornings, bright afternoons, a day of mild rain, and more sunshiny days.  Time to work on outdoor projects during the warm part of the day, or recreate with sun as our reminder that soon it will be too hot to do some things.  I know, it's a while yet, but time flies, as they say.

Here is the taking down and ceremonious destruction of the Old Swing, which has served us for 25 years or so. I'll soon hope to show you what we're doing with the area once we've cleared up all of the stuff that now seems untidy.

Here, too, is our bike ride in Chico.  I used my Christmas gift certificate to get a new bike seat and a kick-stand!  Yippee!  A kickstand!  And I still have enough left to start thinking of a bike-basket.

The view from my "stoop" of the new driveway to Dick's, and of Jeffery dismantling the swing-set.

The area is going to be altered in the coming weeks, now that the swing is going.

One of the two wagon wheels, this one the worst for the wear.

Such a meager pile it turns out to be!

The swing is gone.  Long live the swing.

I can't decide which close-up fire picture I like better, so I give you both.

my preference leans towards this one.

can't help it. love shadows and reflections

I'm looking too frowsy to blow this up any bigger

we had a nice lunch here.

I had to include our 9and3/4 sign, which Jeffery made happen.

On the rainy day, I drove to get the mail, and saw a train stopped in the Honeymoon Tunnels, so I took the best photo I could.  It was getting dark, so here it is.  There are more tunnels that the train is threading; I just couldn't get all of them.

While attending Grandma's Family Gather

Here are some views of our trip down to and around the annual event Jeffery's Mom hosts every year after Christmas.  Always a good time!  This year included a walk near the bay where we saw sea lions herding and gorging on the herring run that is coming through now.  So cool!
