For those who come to see what's new

I've been doing regular things of late, or things that don't really lend themselves to photographic interruptions.  Today, I yearned to take time in downtown Chico to share some of it's glories, but we were shopping and it was hot, so we didn't pause.  In recent days, we've visited and partaken of food with friends, or sat pondering future projects from various vantage points.
However, tonight, as I was watering, I saw a rainbow.  I thought of Lucy's evening watering shot, and thought I'd share mine.
More to come, but here's a cheery hello, how ya doin'!

Oh!  Here's a couple of glasses of lemonade to go with the howdy.

Monday Hike

Brenda and I hiked from behind Belden to across from Chipps Creek this morning.  My vertigo was tested, but I prevailed, and only at the end; just before our goal was reached; were we stymied by the loss of an obvious trail to our destination.  At that point, we turned back, but with further determination to come try again to get to the Rock Creek Dam itself.

Lower Buck's Lake for Grant's 60th Birthday

It was a glorious day, with a touch of rain in the morning to make us extra happy when it cleared up.  The ride to Bucks Lake was beautiful, and our day on the Lower lake, sublime.  So nice to see Kristine after so much time.  And her pumpkin bread was divine!
Here's a few shots of the day
As we arrived, we saw Sara and Grant out on the lake

Reflections

I found a new "view" of the reflecting pool near Mile Post 10 today.  It was so hard to pick which shot was best, I offer a repetitive selection.  You can decide which you prefer.  I placed my favorite first.
I have named the left-side rock face The Sleeping Man

I feel like turning this sideways, to see how it messes with our minds.

Here's what I'm looking at really

Jeffery comes home and we celebrate Barbara's Birthday

Well, after riding and resting, I set out to retrieve my man from the Bay Area, and to wish my mother-in-law a wonderful birthday.  My first night there, we stopped by Liana's house for pizza and salad and a game of ping-pong. Grandma and Liana almost beat Jeffery and I, and you should've seen G-ma take a swing, a miss, and a crash into the wall.  The next day, we went to an Art exhibit, and to Jim Fewell's fire station on 26th St. in San Francisco, and to Mitchell's Ice Cream shop, and to John and Martha's, where we lay on the bed and watched Pickers, since Martha is recovering from foot surgery.  Finally, we wended to the Old Clam House over on Bayshore, where we met up with Kyria, Matt, and Wendie for a yummy dinner and a good time together.
Here are some views for your enjoyment.
