More Florida Sunshine

We have more to show of our visit to the Sunshine State.  Now that we're home, we are informed that it rained in California virtually the whole time we were gone, so you can expect some canyon waterfall photos in the days to come.

The little golf carts were our transportation around the beach walkways much of the time, and in the evening, when it got chilly, they had clear side flaps to keep out the breeze.  The drivers were mostly retired volunteers.  Fun!

More info about the fabulous Mangroves

This little guy was like a cat, all sleepy and cute

Of course, Jeffery got in the water!

Us lounging on the beach
These terns or gulls made us smile

Check out Jeffery's cool sunglasses, which are magnifiers, too!  Isn't he chic?

Osprey and baby

My camera lens was getting sandy, but the view was great.

The question: do all seaside resorts use blue as their deck furniture color scheme?

sunset approaches, seen from the clubhouse

Sunset.  So lovely to us who don't get to see such sights.

The sun is actually gone, but the glow remains for a long time

If you look carefully, you'll see the baby alligator on his mama's back.  Alligator mamas tend their young for a full year!

Turtle

The palm trees are so pretty!  So tidy!

We took a boat ride, and these homes lined the water way in parts of the mangrove forest

There is a nature conservancy with a hospital.  These pelicans are recuperating.  We saw lots of pelicans, but never seemed to have the camera ready when they flew by.

Look at the size of these alligator pears!

On our 2nd to last day, we took another kayak trip, this time into the Gulf before heading up the outflow into the mangrove forest again.

Egret

All sorts of watercraft was seen

We liked this beach-front mansion

pretty flowers

Bottle brush; reminds me of our home in Carmel when we were kids

Farewell Florida.  Farewell Debby and Phil!  Thanks for the memories!
