The Families Clan Campout 2016 - Days 3 and 4

It's Saturday!  With all of us together, the party was on; yet the morning was easy and pleasant, with everyone doing their own thing, together and separately.  We greeted those who'd arrived in the middle of the night, ate breakfast, and recreated in the various ways at our disposal.  All through the day we visited at the different camp sites and at the beach, and then as evening drew near, we had the Haggis Ceremony and the Dinner, and then visited more around the campfire.  So many memories built!  So many catchings-up with folks not seen for a while.  So many laughs.  It was wonderful.

Here I am in my "ready for anything outfit" with lovely Charlotte

Charlotte got muddy.  This is so reminiscent of my Matthew, who would've done the same as a lad.

Sara and I played cribbage in the shade

Cindy napped in the hammock, as she is one of the busy workers who came up to sleep off her weariness as part of her way to relax.  Kyria also napped.  Our career women!

Sara and I rode our bikes to the boat launch where I could get into the water slowly, rather than at our beach where there's a steep drop-off. (I found that out on day one, when my wading turned quickly into a plunge up to my neck and a lot of laughter)

Uncle Edwin came visiting at the Trojan Camp

Auntie Annette with the Haggis she made.

The Haggis.  There were also haggis sausages, which she boiled seperately.

The cutting of the Haggis, and I will quote Mr. Burns here:
"His knife, the rustic goodman wipes, To cut you through with all his might, Revealing your gushing entrails bright, Like any ditch; and then, what a glorious sight, warm, reeking, rich"  (reeking means "welcome")

We gather for a group photo.  This is one with Grant in it.  Bryan took a timed photo, and Grant took a hand-done photo of the group, but this is all I could get before I joined the pose.

Jeffery took this shot before he, Bryan, and Grant joined the group.  I name all from left to right: me, Cindy, Kyria, Annette, Diana, Charlotte, Edwin, Craig, Darlene, Barbara, Andrea, Kathleen, Dan, Joy, Sara, and Amy

Andrea took Auntie Diana for the kayak ride she had wanted.

Grant, seen to the right, is using his motor on his kayak while the others cavort

Bryan took Charlotte for a paddle.  She was "scared to death" she said, but I told her that proved how brave she was.

The Pound-the-Nail game, which we will play tomorrow

Bryan brought his giant bubble maker, and Darlene proved especially adept at making it work

Now it's Sunday, time to break camp and head out.  We had an excellent pancake breakfast, thanks to Jeffery and Grant.  I contributed homemade blackberry jam for the topping, and we finished up the haggis sausages.

It's 11 a.m. and we're supposed to be outa-there, but we have to first eat our fudgecicles and watch Charlotte dance.  She has improved a lot since last year's dancing.

We some of us went our separate ways, while others headed to Lower Bucks Lake for a last day's visit and a swim.  I went early with the trailer.  Jeffery came later with the motorhome.

Tis' a fine thing to be with one's Clanfolk, and we will cherish the memories forever!!!
