End of August Days

End of August saw us taking a climb up the penstock at Buck's Creek while Kyria was visiting, which enlivened my legs so much, I was able to hike lesser steeps with great ease!  Maybe it does get better with practice, eh?
The stairs at the Buck's Creek Powerhouse; the start of our climb

I will climb to where you can see the penstock "stop", which is not even half-way up its full height.

Jeffery and Kyria will continue past where I got to, and climb almost to the top of this photo before they turn around and come back down.

Vertigo shot of Jeffery.  I only got this far up.  Kyria and Jeffery went twice that far again up the next sections of penstock.

Time for Dick's roof to get a winter coat of sealant.  Jeffery applies it.  The mountain in the background is where the Buck's Creek penstock is.

Super-Scuba-Dude is going to look in the river below the rapids where I fell out of the kayak and lost my glasses.

Jeffery on a rock across the river.  The pool was too deep to see the bottom, so my glasses were not found.  I would have to buy a replacement pair, after all.
