2017 Begins - Week Two - Days 9 and 10

The excitement just kept building, and as anyone knows, things change constantly.  A little rain will turn a creek muddy brown, and 20 minutes later, the same creek will have cleared up and look white and pretty.  Same with the river.  It rises, and then, it falls.  Here, I'll show you some stuff.

Morning at Dunedin with no power.  Time to write in my journal!

View from the Sidewalk Ends towards the Tobin Bridge's western end.  Taken for River-Level comparisons

The Tobin Bridges

Dick's Tree still delights and now it has the voluminous Jackass Creek Waterfall behind it clearly

The Blackberry Creek hopped it's banks and caused trouble below.  I took this from the White Cliffs of Tobin.
Note the flows for future reference.

Grover took me for a river tour, and he stopped to let me take this photo from the Tobin Bridge

Blackberry Creek from the highway after the road crews had worked on it.

Caribou Crossroads, with the North Fork visible

Day 10, I got up early and took a walk to see what I could see from the railroad tracks.  I was too scared to walk out onto the railroad bridge any farther

The curve leading to the Bridge is still okay.  In the 97 Flood the curve was utterly destroyed

There's the Blackberry Creek in it's new path, seen from the railroad tracks,  Note that there is only one "waterfall" today.  It will change.

The Blackberry Creek waterfall zoomed up

The Jackass Creek Waterfall with a big debris pile near it

The Reflecting Pool

Just below the Indian Jim School pull-out

the river is up on the Storrie Bridge Footing

Rock Creek.  I post this to show Sara how the neat edge got a bit battered

Rock Creek approach without the boiling creek showing

Bright Falls

Hidden Waterfall isn't hidden right now.  And note the mud color in it.

This isn't a good shot, but in my next post, I'll show you this same thing after it blew out.
