High Sierra Music Festival 2017 - Part Two

We've done Thurs/Friday, and now it's Saturday, and we are feeling good, but also seeing the end of the festival approaching.  So, it's time to make sure to pack in more fun while the fabulousness is available!  As it turned out, Sunday was our favorite in many ways, even though we left before the last show (Govt. Mule - sad to miss them!)

Saturday morning 5:30 a.m. kickball game with a cup of joe in my hand

Tattooed lady trying to get onto the tightrope

lovely lady vendor of trinkets

A large ship suddenly hove into view and interrupted the kickball game to ride the waves around the bases.

Topping a massive swell

This is to show that you, too, can have a pvc ship of your own

She sails off into the clouds, er, a, crowds..... and the game re-commences

Coulda swore I took photos of Sara and Grant as we ate breakfast together in our traditional Saturday fashion.

This sound-tech guy has done this venue for many years, and I love the big rainbow beach umbrella behind him

Not sure I approve of these pants on this otherwise shapely girl.  I wonder if she knows how it looks from behind.

The Saturday Parade

I'm particularly pleased at my inadvertently cool capture of this photo.

I just love the sense of fun this creates

Young Fred, who helped his parents at their ice cream cart.  We watched him, and we love him for who he is.

Blurry, but I just had to show y'all this outfit

Me at the Trey Anastasio Band first set.  It was masterful and totally enjoyable.  A super treat.

Sunday morning, Jeffery joined me in my morning wend up to watch the kickball game. This was one of the scenes along the way.

Some of the kickball players in their outfits.

This lady was so fabulous to look at, but she got put out at home plate by a ball flung from way far away, which happened to donk her on the head as she was about to touch the plate.  Freaky!  The crowd roared it's shock and appreciation.

Jeffery and I sat in the shade and watched the coffee line ebb and grow, and the people pass by, and the garbage men come through.

I actually asked this guy where he found his fabulous orange suit (which he wore with a bright green t-shirt), and he flipped open the jacket to a large label with a swishy signature on it, which meant nothing to me, but should have, I guess.

Definitely got my funk and my dancing needs filled with this Midtown Social set.  Really fun!

The band put on a show as well as performed music, and I love love loved this yellow dress!

The bassist was really great

Peace Man

Gene Evaro Jr. was another top fave of mine, and now Jeffery's too, once I brought him to this set.

David Lindley!  Oh my God, David Lindley.  My absolute favorite of All!  Maybe of all the Festivals I've attended, which is now sixteen in number.

After all the big band set ups, he sits alone on the stage, spare; filling the air with most excellent sounds.

This shot was taken in hopes of catching his fingers in action.  Amazing.

From the back of the Vaudeville Tent, David Lindley is a tiny black hat just above the crowd.

Oh my gosh!  It's Princess Leia's stunt double from Spaceballs the Movie!!!

Friends of ours, neatly napping as we head out to pack the car and head home.  Sigh!  It's always hard to leave the magical place and people and music.  So proud to think that our Quincy is the host town of this great event.

Til next year, High Sierra!
