January 2018

Lots of doin's, but many regular days that don't bring the camera out, so I'm here to do an entire month in one swell foop (so to speak).  It will be a montage of myriad experiences.

New Year's Eve dinner at the Braaten's.

Laurie, Francine, Craig, Brenda, and Jeffery and I played Mexican Train

Frosty bridge over the North Fork

The bridge seen from downstream

The Golden Gate Bridge, with the Coit Tower just to the left of the North Tower

A different view of the same thing, with the Bay Bridge visible in the center background

Approach as the fog lifts and drifts

spider webbed bushes

Prepping the turkey for Grama's Christmas Party

Grama's Christmas Tree stays up until after her early January party

Table decorations

Jeffery and his little sister Liana.  All my photos came out motion-and-light-blurred like this

The family listens to Grama give a toast

Grama gives her toast of gladness

We had kids at the party!!! Elizabeth, Lachlan, and Charlotte

Grama completed 4 quilts this year to give to grandchildren and daughter Kathy

The Christmas tree at our house stayed up until mid- January

Jeffery paints the office room

Jeffery and I went to "Nunsations" at the West End Theater

Working on my protest poster, using the Vulcan IDIC as my inspiration

Here it is before I laminate it.

This is the back side of my sign.  Jeffery made me a light, comfy handle for it.

Crossing the bridge over Lake Oroville, about to dive into the soup of thick fog.

Rodger's Flat, as seen from the opposite hill on a hike I took with Jeffery

This bark was unusually smooth and fine.

Ready to head to the Women's March 2018 in Chico

The 2nd Women's March begins to gather in the Plaza

Lots of fellows of all ages joined in with enthusiasm

People began to stream into the Plaza from all sides.  It was really cool to see.  I'd wondered how big the turn-out would be and it was as big as, or larger than, last year's event.

This dog has a complaint about our CIC.

Hand-made quilt poster.

The Plaza is getting filled, and the crowd is over-flowing the park.

Ready to March selfie

One sign I saw

Here's a couple more.

This one was eye-catching!

Here's one view of the march, which numbered about 3000 attendees.

Liked this sign.

Last one, I promise, but I had such a wonderful time being refreshed by sharing this event with everyone.

Brenda and I hiked along Caribou Rd. where we saw this.

This is for my sister Sara!  Hi Sara!

Ir snowed, so I decided to hike around in the Gansner Bar Campground and make snow-track messages while recording my walk on my Strava

I made a snow-track Peace Sign, but my Strava map just showed a big wudge of tracking.  I'll try again another day.
We do have a few days left in the month, and a few fun times on the calendar, so you might see me again before February, but I'll leave off here, and wish you all a very pleasant rest of January!
