It's kind of interesting; that I flew home to California on the day my mother went for her second hip surgery in Massachusetts, and then I flew back to New York on the day Ma returned home after her recovery. I won't visit her right away, but will do so soon. For now, I'm spending time with my honey after three weeks without him.
Here are a few shots of the city, and a few of our trip to Breakneck Ridge, which we took today. We rode the train along the Hudson River, and were let off with a slew of other hikers at the Breakneck Stop; a road we all walked along to the trailhead. Breakneck Ridge is just what it sounds like; a steep climb up to the ridge that runs away from the Hudson, and offer spectacular views, varied terrain, and many fun sights. It was so fun being "kids" with all those adults as we scrambled up the hill and across the mountain-top and down through the forest. We are very foot and leg sore tonight, but thanks to a shower and a hot bowl of Chinese noodle soup, we are feeling quite well.
