The last day there and the first day here

On Tuesday, I got up, mailed my overflow home, went to Penn Station and bought my ticket over to New Jersey ahead of time, and then took a last wend around a piece of Central Park.  As I walked back to the hotel from Rockefeller Station, I really looked at the people I passed or bumped or skirted, and it was a bittersweet feeling to think of leaving the liveliness of the City.  Then, packed up and ready; I headed via the E train back to Penn Station to catch my NJ Transit train, and then the bus, to the Newark airport, to fly home to be shuttled to the hotel where I left my car, so I could drive to the hotel I would be staying at. Phew!  Today I drove home via the grocery store. Simple as pie, only, I had to drive myself and fill my tank with gas, instead of swiping my Metrocard and riding to my destination.

At Penn Station, there is a mechanical moving contraption in a glass enclosure.  This is one of the moving sections

Here's the "center" that stays still, and another moving section, which says "We've nothing to fear when Washington's near"

another stable center; a train and people, with the mobile Paterson part coming around

I took this shot just to see what progress had been made when I return

Newark's Penn Station (Baltimore has one too, right?)

Salt Lake City Airport ( it was too late when I arrived to want to take a photo of the Sacramento Airport)
