A Winter's Day

Haven't been here much, but things are happening.  I will add more as days pass, but today's photos are ready to be seen.  It hit 59 degrees today, and now, at almost 5 p.m. it's still 51.  Low temps have been around 44.  Sara came down for a visit in the morning, and we took a ride on my Bigfoot.  I used the beast later for hauling leaf and debris piles up the hill.

James and Jeffery return from fixing the broken water line up at Little Indian Creek, so some neighbors can have water again

Jeffery and James scope out the project of removing the fallen tree

Here the guys are at the top of the job, pre-de-limbing of the down-fall

Jeffery cuts a notch after roping the upper part of the tree

Jeffery tries to pressure it to break

This is the top part- or the bottom from when it was standing

Jeffery ties a rope to the notched trunk, which is scary, so they're going to pull it apart, rather than let it fall on it's own

I just missed capturing the butt separating from the rest of the tree.

the little stuff

Jeffery scares me, but I'm fascinated, too
