Here are just a few sights to please the eye or stimulate the mind.
| the nearly full moon rises above our house |
| Brenda looks westward from the Bardee's Bar "trail-head". |
| looking eastward from the top of our hike |
| the road down is really for the crews to access the power towers |
| this hillside lured me over with its strange texture, but I discovered it's an ant wall. I became quickly covered with piss-ants, which when you slap them, smell TERRIBLE, so I stinked/stank/stunk for the rest of the adventure. |
| this wild lilac should not yet be a'blooming |
| the Feather River |
| my photo only partially caught the vibrant red of this dirt bank |
| strange clouds |
| zoom-view of clouds |
| here comes the rain! time to turn around. we only got scattered showered-on, luckily. |
| Hound's tongue, Brenda says. We also saw our first Indian Paintbrush in bloom, far too early. |
| M.Evan's almond tree began to bloom out yesterday. |
| my right hand; the good one |
| my poor "deformed" left hand; bruised from a feet-out-from-under-me fall on our hike. Funny thing is, this injury actually seems to have helped my tightening tendons, like I have the ability to open my palm up wider. Sara! Maybe we do need to hit our hands with a heavy book, after all. |
