Gadding about the Medford Area

After following the Rogue River to Ashland, we found a comfy hotel, and then spent two nights.  I had spent two separate vacations on my own in the Medford area, so Jeffery allowed me to show him around.  I would move to this area in a heartbeat, it's so cool; and I was happy that Jeffery enjoyed it, too.  We will not be moving up there, but will visit more in the future!  Kayaking on the Rogue is on our to-do List.  Anyway, I didn't take too many photos this day, because I left my camera at the hotel, and I did the driving; so I only borrowed Jeffery's camera once in a while.

community art works were on display for our enjoyment.  Jeffery liked this one and wants Dick to help him make one.

we hiked up one side of Lithia Park in Ashland, to the top of the park, we thought, so we took a photo.  Later, we discovered that we'd left a section undone.  There's a swimming hole at the top of the park.

they are building a shrine, too, so we took a photo to show we were here before it was completed.

downtown Historic Jacksonville.  We loved this little town!  It is in what they are calling the Napa Valley of Oregon, and vineries and wineries are already springing up as you wend from Jacksonville to Grant's Pass.

this cemetary was very cool.  we didn't really give it our full tour attention, but it would be worth the time.

Jeffery in Grant's Pass, Oregon.  We found Jeff Gogue's tattoo parlor, and met his daughter Haley, and left a note of hello for his mom, Janet, who used to live in Quincy.

loved this mural in Grant's Pass.

as our reward, we stopped at the Black Bear Diner in Medford for a milkshake and fries.  This article was on the front page of their menu

another beautiful mural, this one across from our hotel window
I will finish up with one more post as we head for home tomorrow, seeing many fun things along the way.  We still have one day left to enjoy!
