All Heck Breaks Loose

Well, I'm glad I had some fun times with everyone before the storms returned.  I am  glad that the worst of the storm are over.  I had intended to show the warm up and peak of the storm effects, but a slow computer saved you dear readers from my fervor.  Now that I'm in high-speed internet Land, I am going to try to put up photos that show familiar places in flood mode for those who are familiar with the canyon-world, kind of like a scrap-book of some of the best views.
Here goes:

This is at the beginning of Caribou Road, where the weir once was.

View from the bridge heading up to Humbug Valley of the North Fork along Caribou Rd.

One of three newly created waterfalls in a grouping at MP2 on Caribou Rd.  I love the waterfalls!

The Happy Wall under water on the Belden Backroad

Chipp's Creek in high water

Spring is still coming, my yard is full of blooming, beaten primroses, and the air smells good and rich

The early morning view from the White Cliffs of Tobin, where the Blackberry Creek has been put back where it goes.

Jackass Creek Waterfall is so abundant, it's throwing mist!

Sacred Waterfall

River-level view of the newly created Boater Access Ramp/Parking Area

The waterfall above the gauging station at MP 11, which has gone dry every summer for years

The Reflecting Pool has collected a log and debris float that keeps circling back into shore to be swept up and out again in an endless dance.

The Old Rodger's Flat Bridge

The river has begun to recede at this time, but is still chewing on the curve of the road at the Tobin Bridges

The river level from a different perspective

and from another

and another.  love this one!

Sorry, but one more.  It's my scrapbook.

This rock has been seen in several shots of the Rock Crest Bridge area.

You can go back to previous posts for comparison views from the Rock Crest Bridge.  Now I know where the debris piles come from.  I continue to learn and to marvel.

I crept down the highway specifically to see this view.  Cool, huh?  Water!

A little different view than I put on Facebook; a bit brighter.  The Storrie Bridge.

A bigger sloshing than previously shown; note the high tide debris.

Three PG&E trucks came along and drove over the bridge.  Eeek!

This familiar sign will tell you where you are; just below Tobin and Rock Crest.

The familiar Jackass Creek Waterfall and Feather River

Another day, another view of the Tobin curve, with the water level way down, but the ferocity of the river unabated.

Went with Kim to the RR Bridge to get this photo of the Tobin highway bridge

I am at the Shady Rest Area and am going to go around that sign to get to Yankee Hill for gas, mailing, and phone-calls.

The damage to the road at Shady Rest.

This mud-slide was just as I was approaching Poe Dam.

View of the Feather River from the Plumas National Forest sign pullout on Jarbo Gap.

Look, too at the water-scoured cliff edge to see that it really was 4-6 feet over the road at its peak.

The Cresta Dam has its drumgates down, as do Poe and Rock Creek Dams (hmm; are Poe's drum-gates?)

Rock Creek has already cleared away the muddiness; a cheery sight.

this section of road below at Storrie was badly undermined.
I am posting this now, because I am going to go skiing in Tahoe!  I'll have more as internet-speed allows, but other than things of interest, I'm pretty fatigued with my obsession with calamity, and will focus more on getting back to normal life. (little do I know.......)
