August Ending-Sept Begins

Some of the heat returned, but the worst of the high temps appear to be over.  No blankets put back on the bed yet, but one considers it on cooler mornings, and my longjohns have come out to be ready to wear.  Otherwise, life has been pleasant, project-oriented, and late-summerish.

Pigs have joined the ducks.

The Osprey has been hanging out a lot lately

Discrete but noticeable shines

Inviting, eh?

You can see the effects of the Murphy Fire, and how they kept it from spreading to the top of the mountains.

We attended the last few hours of the three-day Americana Festival over the Labor Day Weekend and enjoyed spending time with brother Mike Miller, who was managing things.

The Downbeats

Mike was the MC of the stage

AJ Lee & Blue Summit were very enjoyable and skillful

The young lassie entertained us with her dancing.  She happened to be cousin Gail Beatty's granddaughter.

When we returned home from the festivites, we found the farm animals partying it up with Beautiful Betty Blue, who brought the hats, beads, and decorations.

Jeffery approaches the Ben Lomond trail-head while I read the sign that says "Zell Brown May 2, 1919 May 1 2009"

Cathy brought her husband Mike to meet us, and they brought a home raised prime rib for our dinner!

More to come.  Not great big news! and excitement! but end of summer fun still happening!
