Late Summer Daze

It's been smoky from all the fires in California, so our psyches have been slightly altered, just like a cloudy day.  But we still have enjoyed the waning days of August with fun times.  Not pictured here is the times at the beach, since I'm not a bather, and Jeffery's not a big photographer. (hint, hint)  Also not shown is the kayak and hike day at Round Valley Lake, with me, Jeffery and Craig meeting up with Sara and Grant.  I forgot my camera that day.  Here's a small photo album of the rest of our most recent times.

Lyin' cows!  (sorry, couldn't help myself)

Looking up Buck's Creek from across the canyon

Dinner and Darts with Sue and Bob Juno

The Duck flock is multiplying.  New babies

Hay!  A truck dumped it's load onto the highway.

A visit, a tour, lunch and games of petanque at Dana and Leslie's home

The Loomii cousins and mates

We took a walk down into the construction zone around and under the Yellow Creek Bridge

One angle of the project - a mysterious platform and super cool sheared I-beams where the east lane used to be.

Another view

Ooh ooh!  Big Equipment!

More big equipment.  Wonder what they're drilling goal is.  We're all trying to guess exactly how this project will go.

One last perspective before it all changes again

A dark shot of our morning walk up Caribou Rd as the sun first touches the Palisade

A plethora of wildflowers graces a waterfall wall.  Here are a few of them.

Brenda and I couldn't remember seeing this wall before.  It's across the North Fork and is usually in the deep shadows.

Grover's old oak stump started to do a leaning Tower of Pisa, which threatened his carport and deck, so Jeffery decided to chop off a big chunk of it.  It took some doing, and he was weary as heck later, but it provided us with entertainment, and now the job is done.

Timber!

Whump! dust flies

The crew.  Can you see how sawdust-powdered Jeffery is?

Here's one with me in it, but the log doesn't show so well.
More to come, after it happens.  The heat wave is over, the days are pleasant, and fall is around the corner.
