More Family and Summer Times

After we got home from Baltimore, we had to play catch-up and get ready for The Wedding, and we had the gift of a visit from our son, Matthew!  Plus there were little local events/doings that made our days full and interesting.

Fire crews responded to a "small" wildfire at Murphy Creek while we were in Baltimore, but they kept it small, we're happy to say.  They stood guard for many days to make sure.

Scorch signs along the highway

Evidence of fire near Paul's Creek, which is, thankfully, the fire's eastern boundary

The Yellow Creek Bridge still has a goodly section of east-bound lane, but they're going to start dismantling it.

Lots of responders to the fire

A wee imbroglio was initiated in our neighborhood.

Jeffery, who abhors rucktions, removed the decals and peace was restored once more.

Jeffery had to prop up my peach tree to give it strength to hold up its heavy fruit.

Matt came to feed and entertain and warm us!

The last bit of  east-bound lane remains on the Yellow Creek Bridge

These guys are loud even when they're not talking.  ha ha  We are attending the Pancake Breakfast at the Quincy Fire Station.

A momentary lull, which allowed us to find our seats easily, which can be difficult some years; it's a popular event.

The servers are the firemen themselves.

Is that a noble horse, or what!?  Loved her costume, too!

Hey, there's a "smoker" above Murphy Creek.  The first I've seen.  The fire is already contained, so no worries.

At the Colby Creek Bridge on the Tobin Trail.

Father and son, eh?  Dad always gets a bit of help from his kids re: functions on his phone.

Headed to Chico, and out of a clear blue sky looms the Valley smoke from the Carr and other wildfires.

A view showing the Yellow Creek Bridge after one lane has been removed.

The bridge over Yellow Creek has only one lane.  The old east-bound lane is gone.

The dredge is being removed from the Rock Creek Dam and the crew that worked it will vacate Tobin, where they've been staying during the job they've been doing.

I see Mom for the first time, and she looks fabulous!  Craig shines, too.

The Wedding Couple's Table.

We met Kyria at the Tennessee Valley trailhead, and I finally got to meet Eduardo!!

The first part of the trail is gently sloped, but there are some climbs ahead.

We began in the fog and climbed out of it.

The fog recedes at the higher places and as the day comes on.

Same view, wider, and from farther away than the earlier photo
