And the heat goes on

It's a scorcher!  Funny thing is, I'm already starting to get used to it.  It makes me blow raspberries, just to cool off and express my discomfort, but it's bearable, if you stick to the shady side of the street.  Last night, when we went out to dinner with Chris K. and Nicole (what a treat to see them!), the thermometer told us that it was very hot.

Today I did a bit of browsing.  Saw people sleeping on park benches and in doorways.  Shopped at REI and the Loft.  Went specifically to the Delancey Street subway station to take photos, both because of the lovely tile-work, and in honor of sister-friend, Keri Pla, who is connected to the San Franciso street of the same name.  Took my morning walk down to and under the Promenade before the heat sent me to the subways and shops.  Booked tickets to ride over to the Statue of Liberty on the 28th.  Fun day!  And I still get to be with my Jeffery for the whole weekend, so Life is Great!

the crowd outside reflects the need for shade more than titillation
