Silver Lake

Today, Grant, Jeffery and I went to Silver Lake, about 6 miles up a good dirt road out of Meadow Valley.  We found the lake at about half its normal volume, due to work being done on the dam.  So.... we did go boating!  Here's a few pictures of our outing.

where's the Lake?  the boys do a feasablility study.

Uncle Jeffery pretends to be nephew Karl - Dorothy is not as brave as Ruth

the 20 minute boat walk from car to water (just kidding)

knee-deep mud awaits the unwary boat launcher

Huge strange rock

see how tiny Grant and his boat look!

the color of this sedge-grass was so much more vibrant than shows here
old drowned tree - see the water line?

Uncle Jeffery being goofy, cuz the muck-n-mire wasn't good for swimming

turns out we didn't break the swimming rules, but who'd want to?
Sure was a fun day, and we came home all sunburned and sand in the shoes!
