At Halcyon Farm, Amsterdam NY - Day One, the Birthday Party

Here are a plethora of fun shots of the 80th birthday barbeque for Uncle John and a few other sights.  I'll make another post for the 50th Anniversay gala, and beyond

We arrive at the Farm, and are taken on a hike to see the fiddle-head ferns

Uncle John and Dorothy can barely get their arms around this mighty walnut tree

On our way to the Farm, we saw this fun church

I tried to be discrete taking this photo of an Amish buggy, of which we saw several

Jeffery and I found this cool driftwood "sea snake" on the shores of Saratoga Lake.  We gave it to Uncle John and Aunt Junie for their anniversary. (par for the course?)

The barbeque begins (Lucy, Sarah Ames, Allen, Emily, John Holloway, Jonathan, and Dan)  Allen had just arrived from Korea, where he was working.

Johny Leonard and Christina.  The barn behind is 150 years old or more

  1. A day well spent. I have similar plans for my dad’s birthday this year. I have booked one of the Chicago venues for the party and I am sending mom and dad on a trip. It is going to be my gift for me. Also, from my first salary. It was lovely going through this post.
