Sunday and Monday in New York City

Jeffery and I headed out on Sunday to go to the Cloisters, but we only made it to 5th Avenue, where the Puerto Rican Parade blocked our path and lured us to partake of the fun.  We ended up watching it, and then headed over to Central Park to walk, and lie on the grass, and watch the world go by.  Later, we took more walks, and saw the sights that come out when darkness falls.

Here is 5th Ave., where we were prevented from crossing

this small group shows how colorful the parade route was, with everyone waving flags, paraders and spectators alike

police were everywhere, mostly to help direct human traffic along the parade route

Jeffery got me some pretty beads to wear to show support

the grey-haired fellow was stirring the crowd for his photographs.  here he was, instructing them to cheer and wave flags

we got so hot, we needed the relief of an italian ice

We had to ride the Central Park merry-go-round!

Jeffery sat in the sun to finish reading "Dr. Jekkyl and Mr. Hyde"

Many people were sunbathing

 Big Bird!

I thought Jeffery would look nice in this jacket; he didn't care for the color

cool stairs

reddening berries of some sort

I keep finding things in Central Park that I hadn't seen.  This is the Block House

This is the tunnel that I stood under, out of the rain, to talk to my mom

building art, who's meaning is lost to me.....

posters hanging on a wall

mannequins in a clothing store window

who photos the back of the New York Library Lions?

this building is going up at the SE corner of Bryant Park.  I'll check on it's progress when I return

This photo is from Jeffery's day at the Aids Walk, before I arrived for this visit

Taken from Jeffery's camera, I wanted to show us together at Breakneck Ridge's rock scramble

Jeffery's birthday
This is me, squished into the train on our way back from Belmont, but I use it to end my time in New York, to say "Oh no, I have to leave Jeffery and get on a plane!!"

  1. LOVE the photo of you and Jeffery in front of the fountain. And love your eye for details. Nice!
