Met up with friend Kandie, who I hadn't seen in person for several years, at Table Mountain, which is one of the sunniest places we could've chosen to take a hike together. Still, we braved it, and found some actual shady stretches, and enjoyed the periodic cooling breeze, and just had a wonderful walk. Strange to see our spring flower world so dry and waterless, but interesting, too.

| The lip of Phantom Falls; dry as a bone |
| Kandie approaches the top of the Falls, with a small water pool all that remains of the creek |
| The way through the forest beckons us; we've never gone down that path before |
| so we skirt the Falls and the creek and make our way towards the opening |
| which leads us to a "hidden" meadow with shade along the trail. Ahh! The breeze cools us. |
