It's now mid-way through Day 3, Saturday, and the day has been magical. Here's more.
| I was lured into the Music Hall by "Sunshine of Your Love", which was being played by anyone who wished to take a turn jamming on stage, or in the audience. This was the intermediate's session, hosted by musicians, Sean Leahy and Pamela Parker. |
| Nadine and Chance came to the Record Company's set at Vaudeville, and we enjoyed it together a lot. |
| this young lassie's hair was almost bigger than she was |
| We had comfy chairs (Dr. Who reference to any geeks out there) near the Grandstand stage, which had several good sets to offer us, so we pretty much just stayed there for a while |
| here I am just before I took a snooze while Jeffery went to hear the music at the other stages I was happy with the Turquaz, the North Mississippi Allstars, and Dr. Dog. |
| this is a famous photographer, but he proved to be an elusive subject himself |
| Rock band on a bike sharing its joy with everyone |
| Bernie Sanders attended this year's even with a smile |
| Saw these folks on the way to the Parade. He took off his wig to have dinner, it seems. |
| the parade is extra colorful and large this year! |
| isn't it fun? |
| all kinds of figures this year that we haven't seen before |
| the Parade streams from the center over to the Lawn where we do yoga and kick-ball and tightrope walking and hula hooping |
| love the children |
| love the little astronaut! |
| Teens |
| our stilt walking and drumming camp neighbors, the Samba Stilt Circus, put on quite a show! |
| Dudes on a Foam Tub wall (my mother bone was screaming "it's gonna break!") |
| Our beautiful Fairgrounds as the shadows bring relief, and you can see the American Valley from the Grandstand bleachers |
| the Peace dude |
| the Jendala lady |
| Jeffery helps Jen move her cart back to her booth |
| Anders Osbourne |
| the crowd in the lights of the Anders Osbourne set |
| we popped in to see how the Krewe d' Roux were doing, but had already had dinner from the Caribbean Salmon vendor. The photo is of Larry and Denise, who were the originators of the Bitchin' Kitchen |
| the Ben Harper set on the Grandstand stage; my best-of-show |
| I wore my cape again |
| the Fire Dancers |
| this giant sky puppet and others danced to the music of the Ben Harper set, and made it surreal and beautiful-er. Now it's hovering over the Fire Dancers circle. |
| the Fire Dancers |
We wended towards bed after this, but along the way, I got a compliment and a high-five from a ten year old lad that ran out of the throng to give me his kudos over my great cape. Thanks to my mom-in-law, the cape could be worn and enjoyed this year ! We slept better than we had up to now, thanks to the wonderful day's activities.
