Days of Sun and Clouds

It's been a couple of interesting days of sight-seeing; starting with Sunday, with Jeffery, and finishing with today.  It's interesting to me how every day is a little different.  Today, all the volunteers were working on Park clean-up and planting.  The subways were empty compared to tourist-filled weekends or early-day commuters.  The trees and flowers are springing up and out, and work projects are in evidence everywhere.
I haven't done the Museums, because the whole City is a big museum; or a festival.  I've even become very nimble and able when it comes to crossing streets; getting through crowds; and hopping onto my beloved subway.  Having TIME to discover New York City makes it much less stressful that a quick visit without knowing the ropes.  I feel like an "old hand".

Another great building which seemed to move with the clouds

Jeffery showed me the raccoons that come out at dusk near the Ramble in Central Park

A nice young fellow took this "last light" photo for us

We wanted to see Central Park at night, but dusk served us just as well, and we strolled in fairyland-like lighting.

This wee pup just stood there for long moments, looking just like this

I like the colors of stone bridge and native flora

dancing children.  I was talking to my mom when I came across this.

Yesterday, the Park was covered with people.  Today, I had the place almost to myself, due to cold.

I'd not heard the term "pinetum" before.

couldn't resist showing you all the paving that goes all the way around Central Park's outer sidewalks

Oh my goodness; Johny Winter.....or is it Johnny, like the sign says?

This policewoman came to guard the fellow who was collecting the money from the parking pay stations

construction dudes...aren't they sexy?  I took this so I can compare how it grows.  It's 739 8th Ave.

The building being constructed (see previous photo) will cover this old advertisement(s).  Steam heat!!

Jeffery and I head to Roosevelt Island

Today was a whole day with my honey!  We went over to the United Nations building, but the flags weren't flying, so it wasn't as photogenic as expected.  So we stopped and had a bagel before heading over to the tram to Roosevelt Island.  We spent all day over there, which means tonight, Jeffery is beet red from sun and wind.  What a great day!

I thought of my mother-in-law when I saw all these stairs to be climbed.

Loved this building.  So pretty

we learned about Cro-nuts, which are croissant donuts.  This is a "knock-off" Bo-nut, made by Bobo.  It was filled with lemon meringue.

F.D.R. park at the southern tip of the island.  It was very blocky and industrial in design, so I only took this one shot of it

I don't know why this amused me, but it did
