Gone to New York City

After the stress of planning to go; of getting everything done before-hand; and getting to the airport and onto the plane; being here in NYC is the easy part.  Here I am.  What will I do today?  Well, I arrived early on Thursday, and here it is Saturday morning.  I spent all day yesterday in Central Park, and when Jeffery got home, we went to see the Faberge Egg Hunt eggs on display.  Here are some photos.

most of these fine tree covers are gone, so here's one for posterity

at Rockefeller Center, all the doors have cool designs like this

we can see this from our room, but here it is from the street

this was waiting for me when I got to the room.  Sweet Jeffery!  The tiny astronaut is from Tommy's treasures.

sorry, but this toilet innards was too unusual not to show.  it won't flush unless there's something to flush

Cool afternoon lighting

I liked watching the little girl rowing all by herself.

wonder what the blue flowers are

the kind of photo one expects to see of Central Park

I stopped to talk with this volunteer fellow, and he nicely told me to get lost in the Ramble.  I thanked him, and did as he told me.

I found Waldo!

In an article I read, I learned about the Egg Hunt, and about the artist that did this egg.  His whole life and all his art was destroyed by a house fire, but this egg was out hiding in NYC, so it is all he has left of his art.

We didn't have our pint here, but later, did enjoy a Guinness at a different place

  2. LOVE Central Park -- and loved those eggs.

The blue flowers are hellebore. There are lots of gorgeous varieties in luscious colors that bloom early in the spring.
