We figured out that we treklked about 10 miles total yesterday, what with the bike/jog, and the various little tours and the long walk through Central Park. We had an Excellant Day, and a wonderful meal with drinks at Cotta's, but fell into bed like stones. Met a cool fellow on the subway who plays chess in Washington Park, and experienced a rude boy on a totally packed subway ride that everyone was forced to deal with quietly. Took several peoples' family photo for them, and had a young man take ours. New York is a sociable city. Oh! and we were treated with friendly rudeness by one gal, who said "jeez, aren't you from around here? This is Fort Greene Park!" as if we should know.

At Grant's tomb you were literally 2 blocks away from where I lived in NYC. I climbed to the top of Riverside church, up through the bell tower -- scary but rewarding! Wonderful! So glad you were able to visit my old stomping ground.
