Home again; via the long route

You know how I asked for the plane to get me home without further ado.  Well, that was too much to ask, it seems.  My plane from Newark NJ arrived in Salt Lake City a half hour after my connecting flight had left, and the next plane wasn't until today.  So, thank gosh for motel points and a good husband.  I had 7 hours in a bed, instead of having to curl up on a suitcase in the airport.

So I awoke to a nice hotel breakfast and a shuttle to the SLC airport, where the security line moved 10x faster than the one in Newark, and the seat I had was an emergency row seat, which means extra leg room; so when I got to Sacramento and was shuttled to my car, I was as fresh as a traveler could be.  Coming home, I was taken by how short everything is; and how spaced apart, and how Quiet!
The Canyon seemed like home; road work and all; with the traffic control workers waving in recognition.  Ah, it's nice  to be known to neighbors.  Now I have to read the mail, pay the bills, and say hello to my gardens.
