Five Hours to Medford, Oregon

I set out on Thursday for Medford, which is about half-way to Portland from Tobin.  The five hours turned into six, due to the views and stops.  Most of my photos were taken "on the fly" through my car windows, but I did take some from out in the real world.  I could not find the burned zone in Weed, but I think it's because they don't want us in that area.  I'm going to look it up on the map before I pass by on my return trip.  When I arrived at the Hotel, there were Mom and Kathy checking in, too!  They had a double room, and I had a studio, and we had a really nice dinner that was way too much food.  Slept great, and was raring to go next morning.

the only photo of Mt. Lassen that showed the mountain, which is behind the house in the middle..  I could see Lassen, but couldn't get my camera to do so.

it's a sign that I'm making progress!

The reddish area on the middle-right of the mountain is where this summer's slide occurred.  I need to see if it ruined the trail that my loved ones take to reach the top.

You can see the fire damage on the hill right at the edge of town.  It sure must've been terrifying.

The Mercantile is still there.

I neglected to find out who this fine fellow is.

I assumed this deer was "pottying", but I came to believe that it was an attack stance, so I moved on

Thank you Uncle Jeffery for the nice hotel rooms with wonderfully comfortable beds!
I will add more of my adventure when I return home.  I'm currently in the same hotel, getting ready to start the last leg home.  Boy are you in for some pretty photos to come!
