Time with my daughter

Kyria and I met up in Auburn, CA today to share time hiking and eating.  We began early, so as to beat the heat, so I left Tobin at 5:35 a.m. and enjoyed seeing the light of day come on as I dropped down into the valley.  Kyria hiked me down and up and down and up for a total of 6.78 miles and I was able to maintain my 1.8 mph average pace.  We had a nice breakfast in town when we were finished, so we parted happy and replete.

Irresistible shop window

Fun building on street corner of Auburn

From the beginning of our hike; look for the bridge in the far distance; that's where we are going!

cool rock bluff

neighbors meet by chance on the trail; see how much closer the bridges are?

informative sign

we did not go up this particular trail, and I was glad.  Rough footing.

we are on the far side of the big bridge, and we'll be going a bit farther before we turn back and do the return trip

another informative sign

people on the rocks; they jumped off them, but I didn't capture that

clear green water

had to go down to the river

isn't it inviting?

Kyria had to jump in, both to cool off, and to say she'd swam in October!
